Install, maintain, and repair fire and gas detection and suppression systems in the oilfield's facilities, including Central Processing Facilities (CPF), Gas Processing Plants (GPP).
Conduct regular inspections and tests on fire and gas systems to ensure they are functioning properly and in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with fire and gas systems, and make necessary repairs using specialized tools and equipment.
Calibrate and maintain gas detection sensors and flame detectors to ensure accurate readings.
Coordinate with other departments and personnel to ensure effective response to emergency situations and support during drills and exercises.
Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and testing performed on fire and gas systems and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
Train and educate other personnel on fire safety and emergency response procedures and protocols.
Follow safety guidelines and protocols when working with hazardous materials and equipment.
Job Requirements:
Diploma or equivalent.
Technical degree or certification in fire protection technology, electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
At least 3 years of experience working as a fire & gas technician in the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge of fire and gas detection and suppression systems commonly used in the oilfield, including flame detectors, gas detectors, fire sprinkler systems, and deluge systems.
Proficiency in using specialized tools and equipment, such as multimeters, calibrators, gas detectors, flame detectors, and infrared cameras.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Familiar with oil and gas field safety risks, and have participated in corresponding safety training.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
Certification in fire safety and emergency response procedures preferred.
