Substation & Switch Gear Technician

Be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems in a substation or
switchgear facility.

Installation and Testing:

Installing new electrical equipment, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and relays, and performing initial testing and commissioning.

Maintenance and Repair:

Conducting routine maintenance activities, such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment, and troubleshooting and repairing electrical faults.

Technical Support:

Providing technical support to substation and switchgear engineers and other technical staff, including assisting with design and testing activities.

Upgrades and Modifications:

Assisting with the planning and execution of upgrades and modifications to electrical equipment and systems, including installing new components and removing outdated ones.

Emergency Response:

• Responding to emergencies related to electrical equipment and taking appropriate actions to ensure the safety of personnel and the facility.
• Ensuring that all work performed on electrical equipment is done in compliance with safety regulations and standards, including implementing safety procedures and protocols.
• Documenting all maintenance and repair work performed on electrical equipment and reporting on production metrics and trends to management.
