Welder in an oil field is responsible for welding and fabricating metal structures and equipment used in the exploration,
extraction, and transportation of oil and gas.

Here are the job responsibilities and requirements:


Job Responsibilities:

  1. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to fabricate metal structures and equipment.
  2. Use welding techniques such as TIG, MIG, and arc welding to join metal components.
  3. Operate hand and power tools, including saws, grinders, and welding equipment.
  4. Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  5. Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including welding logs and material usage records.
  6. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  7. Repair or modify existing metal structures and equipment as needed.
  8. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop new designs and solutions to welding problems.


Job Requirements:

  1. Diploma or equivalent technical or vocational training in welding preferred.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in welding and fabrication in the oil and gas industry.
  3. Knowledge of welding techniques and materials commonly used in the oil and gas industry.
  4. Understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to welding and fabrication5.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  5. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  7. Familiar with oil and gas field safety risks, and have participated in corresponding safety training.
